Here are 5 Reasons Students Study English at Matrix:

1. At the end of the term students should have at least one completed essay they have written.

– Students will have a thorough knowledge of the text as well as how to write an essay based on their knowledge of the text.

2. Each week, Matrix English students are entitled to one hour of free one-to-one English workshops.

– These free workshops provide individual help and feedback on students’ essays. Tutors will be able to help students Matrix work as well as any school work.

3. The term structure has been carefully designed to ensure students experience the most effective English course.

1 – 4The first four lessons deal with the theoretical aspects of a module – in these lessons students learn how to approach a text according to the module demands.These lessons focus on the theory specific to a module.
5 – 8The next four lessons ensure students are able to apply the theory they have learnt in the first half of the term in a series of lessons which focus on essay skills.The second half of the term allows students to hone their essay writing skills for the module – students receive consistent and regular feedback from their teacher as they learn how to tailor an essay to the module.
9In the final lesson, students are exposed to HSC exam-style questions to test their essay writing skills.

4. Classes are text-based.

– At Matrix English Module A classes are separated depending on the specific texts a student is studying. Upon enrolment, students must advise Matrix Education on the texts they are studying to ensure they are enrolled in the correct classes.

5. Every week, students are required to compose an extended response consolidating what they have learnt from the lesson.

– Students are able to apply their newly learnt knowledge by answering weekly homework questions.
