What is the Matrix School Partnerships Program?
Who is Matrix Education?
Matrix Education is Sydney’s best tutoring centre for Years 3 – 12 students offering English, Maths, Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and UCAT.
Matrix is on a mission to help students achieve their lifelong academic ambitions. Their campuses are located in Chatswood, Epping, Hurstville, Parramatta, Strathfield, and Sydney City. Every week, 6000+ students from 250 schools attend a Matrix class.
Who are your teachers/tutors?
Matrix teachers are experts in their fields who have extensive teaching experience and hold degrees or doctorates in their field.
They’re not just knowledgeable but are able to explain things clearly, even the difficult stuff. So students have more aha moments!
To ensure teachers meet our strict teaching standards they undergo over 50 hours of classroom training. Also, every teacher has a verified Working With Children Check.
How are Matrix classes structured?
9 weekly classes are structured to cover a term’s content. During the class, a Matrix teacher will go through the content as outlined in a Matrix Theory book which is provided to all enrolled students.
At the start of each class between Week 2 and Week 8, students will sit a short quiz that assesses the previous week’s content, and the teacher may also review some homework questions. The majority of the lesson will be spent going through the Theory book. For Maths, the workbook is to be completed by the student as homework. In week 9, students will sit for an end-of-term topic test or final assessment.
When do courses start at CBHS Lewisham?
To start off the partnerships program with CBHS, we’ll be offering Year 7 and Year 8 courses at CBHS Lewisham. The courses will run on Mondays and Tuesdays from Week 2 of next term at CBHS Lewisham school classrooms. The first lesson will start on the week starting 24 July 2023 and runs until Tuesday 19 September 2023.
Will my child get homework?
Homework is a vital part of learning at Matrix so we do assign weekly homework relating to that lesson you just completed.
For Maths, students complete their homework in the Work Book provided to them in their first lesson and for English, homework is submitted via the online Matrix Learning Management System.
