As the Content Editor, you will write, edit and publish articles to increase leads and conversions. You will be ensuring that all content published online is of high quality and relevance to suit the purpose and our audience.

 

This role is ideal for an experienced content writer who is seeking a collaborative role where they can continue to do what they do best (writing great content!) and continually grow and learn.

 

What you’ll do…

  • Write high quality, engaging, and Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) and SEO optimised content across digital channels that speaks to both human audiences and AI platforms.
  • Create compelling blog content that positions Matrix as a thought leader in education and answers the real questions of students and parents.
  • Adapt content format and structure to improve visibility in AI driven search environments, featured snippets, and conversational interfaces.
  • Propose article topics informed by keyword and question based research using AI and content intelligence tools.
  • Collaborate cross functionally across departments to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
  • Ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines, editorial tone, and content governance processes (approval workflows, version control).
  • Edit and improve existing website, blog, and email content for GEO, SEO, tone, grammar, clarity, and accuracy.
  • Manage and execute a content calendar focused on driving conversions and increasing organic traffic.
  • Use data to evaluate the performance of content pieces, drawing insights to refine future strategy and prioritise content updates.
  • Monitor content effectiveness in zero click search results and identify new opportunities for structured data and AI enhanced formats.
  • Continuously explore new content trends, emerging platforms, and generative AI capabilities to ensure Matrix content remains competitive and visible.
  • Champion company’s brand voice and values across all written content.

 

What you’ll need…

  • A minimum of three years’ experience in content creation across multiple formats (including blogs, website copy, email campaigns, scripts, social media).
  • Tertiary qualifications (or equivalent) in Journalism, Media, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • High level writing and editing skills with a strong grasp of grammar, storytelling, and engagement tactics.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong time management and content planning capabilities.
  • Experience with content management systems (WordPress preferred).
  • Proven ability to write Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) and SEO optimised content with an understanding of keyword strategy, content structuring, and on page optimisation.
  • Competence in leveraging analytics tools (e.g., SEMRush, Google Analytics, social platforms) to guide content performance analysis.
  • Working knowledge of tools like ChatGPT, AnswerThePublic, AlsoAsked, and other AI driven research platforms.
  • Ability to develop content that performs in zero click and AI search environments (e.g., Google SGE, Bing Copilot, Perplexity).
  • An open and collaborative attitude.
