Matrix Education is now hiring a full time Biology Coordinator to join our Academic Team.

This role is an opportunity for a passionate and experienced educator to continue their classroom teaching, while taking their career to the next level, through leading a faculty  and contributing towards developing courses.

This role reports directly to the Head of Secondary and is working alongside three fellow Science Coordinators to lead a team of Science Teachers and Tutors. It will be primarily based at our Sydney CBD head office for administration hours and will require the successful candidate to travel to our campuses for weekly teaching hours. As Matrix Education trades seven days a week, weekend hours will be required from time to time.

 

What you’ll do…

  • Oversee the design, development and continual improvement of Matrix Stage 6 Biology Courses that align with educational standards and are tailored to the learning needs of students.
  • Develop new programs and services that respond to market demand and support Matrix’s enrolment growth targets.
  • Lead and manage a growing team of teachers and tutors, fostering a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance culture.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop teaching staff to ensure delivery of engaging classroom experiences.
  • Drive pedagogical innovation, modelling best practices and championing the integration of technology and AI tools to improve teaching, learning and marking efficiency.
  • Manage the department class timetable to maximise classroom efficiencies and meet student demand.
  • Coordinate with operations and administration teams to ensure seamless delivery of classes and services.
  • Teaching regular weekly classes throughout the term.
  • Delivering feedback and recommendations to students and parents on on their progress in Biology.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging staff to experiment with and adopt new strategies that enhance student outcomes and operational efficiency.

 

What you’ll need…

  • Minimum of two years experience teaching junior Science and HSC Biology in a classroom setting.
  • A genuine passion for Science teaching.
  • Extensive knowledge of the current NESA curriculum in stage 6 Biology.
  • Proven ability to develop programs that drive enrolment demand and growth.
  • Tech-savvy, with an ability to adopt and implement AI-powered tools and innovative teaching practices.
  • Familiarity with learning analytics and data-driven teaching practices.
  • Bachelor degree qualification in Teaching, Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Postgraduate studies in the above listed disciplines will be highly regarded.
