After the Trial Exams were over, I was exhausted mentally and physically. Enrolling into the HSC Exam Prep Course was the best thing that I did. It was really intense but I felt all aspects of the syllabus were reviewed thoroughly with emphasis on exam techniques in just one week.
Marist College Penshurst
Before my exams, I had no idea where to start, what to study, or what to revise. Matrix Exam Prep Course was the perfect solution. It provided a full rundown of all the core topics and concepts assessed!
Cherrybrook Technology High School
Matrix emphasises the use of flowcharts for structured Physics learning. As a visual learner, flowcharts allow me to process information and categorise the steps for experiments in a sequential manner!
St George Girls' High School
I’ve improved in my exam performance, and I can confidently attribute this to the Matrix Exam Prep Course. I found that doing the questions, categorised, and with the proper theory, to be much more helpful and motivating than looking at a mountain of past exam papers.

All Matrix Year 12 Physics teachers are experienced educators with degrees in Secondary Education, Physics, or related disciplines. Our teachers combine strong subject knowledge with real classroom experience, enabling them to explain complex physical concepts clearly and support students in developing the skills needed for HSC exam success.
How do Matrix teachers teach Year 12 Physics?
Matrix teachers use a structured, exam-focused approach designed to build confidence and improve performance under exam conditions.
Each lesson is designed to maximise exam readiness through:
This approach helps students apply physics concepts accurately and present clear, structured solutions in the HSC.
Does the Matrix Year 12 Physics course follow the NSW school syllabus?
Yes, the Matrix HSC Physics Trial Preparation course thoroughly covers the outgoing NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Physics syllabus. This includes key topics such as mechanics, electromagnetism, waves and light, and modern physics.
Can I take this course for HSC revision?
Yes. This course is designed as a high-impact revision program to help students prepare for their HSC Trials and final exams. It focuses on exam technique, structured problem-solving, and applying physics concepts to a range of HSC-style questions.
Does this course include practice exams?
Yes. Students complete 4 full mock HSC exams with detailed solutions, designed to help them practise different question types, refine their working, and learn from their mistakes. Students also receive a printed Physics Preparation Book, access to Theory Lesson Videos and online resources, and a range of practice questions.
Should I enrol in the Trial Exam Prep Course if I’m a current Matrix student?
Yes. The HSC Physics Trial Exam Prep Course is designed as a high-impact revision program to complement your regular Matrix class. It is ideal for students who want to:
For best results, students should continue their Term or Holiday courses, as these provide deeper, structured learning of the Modules, while the Trial Prep Course focuses on revision, exam practice, and technique in the lead-up to exams. The Trial Prep course is complimentary, and not a replacement for regular courses.
How is the HSC Trial Prep course different from the holiday and term courses?
Matrix’s HSC Physics Trial Exam Prep course runs for 6 lessons over one week. Students revise all Year 12 HSC topics and focus on exam-style questions to help them prepare for the HSC trial exam.
The Year 12 Physics Holiday Accelerated course runs for 9 lessons over two weeks and focuses on a specific Module. This condensed, structured format provides students with a strategic head start, maximising continued learning and retention while freeing up term time for ongoing revision.
The Term course is identical to the holiday course but develops skills gradually across several weeks, allowing time for deeper learning, regular practice, and steady improvement.
Where can I attend the HSC Trial Prep course?
The HSC Trial Prep course is available during the July holidays at the University of Technology Sydney. Course dates and locations for September will be confirmed closer to the start date.
What is Matrix+?
