  • Using exact values to solve right-angled triangle problems

Trigonometry 2


Solving right-angled triangle problems involving direction, and angles of elevation & depression

Applying Pythagoras & trigonometric ratios to solve three-dimensional problems

Algebraic Techniques 1


  • Expand and simplify algebraic expressions.
  • Add and subtract algebraic functions.
  • Use algebraic techniques including the recognition of special products (x + a)(x + b) to expand algebraic products.

 

Day 2

Algebraic Techniques 2


Expand and simplify algebraic products using appropriate algebraic techniques including special products:

  • (x + a)(x – b)
  • (ax + b)2
  • (ax + b)3

  • Apply index laws to simplify arithmetic and algebraic expressions.
  • Convert between surd and index form.
  • Solve simple exponential equations.

Surds


  • Simplify expressions involving surds and the four operations.
  • Expand expressions involving binomial products and surds.
  • Rationalise denominators.

    • Factorise algebraic expressions by extracting common factors
    • Grouping and factorising algebraic expressions
    • Factorising the difference of two squares

Factorisation Techniques 2


  • Factorising trinomials of the form ax2 + bx + c
  • Recognising perfect squares
  • Simplifying algebraic fractions
