Overview
The Matrix Year 12 English Advanced Term Course is a structured 9-week program designed to give students the clarity, depth, and skills needed for HSC English success. Each week, students study the same modules and prescribed texts they are covering at school, but with expert guidance, model responses, and targeted practice that build confidence and exam readiness.
Through 3-hour weekly lessons, students learn to analyse texts with sophistication, develop critical arguments, and refine both analytical and creative writing. Lessons balance explicit instruction with guided practice, ensuring students understand their texts in depth while applying their knowledge to HSC-style responses.
Because this course is text-specific, students enrol into a stream that matches their prescribed school text (e.g. Past the Shallows, Richard III / Looking for Richard, Emma, etc.), ensuring every lesson directly supports both school assessments and HSC requirements.
