Yes. The Matrix Year 12 English Advanced program offers multiple classes that cater to each official NESA-prescribed text pairing. This ensures that students studies their exact school text, aligning their learning with school requirements and HSC expectations.
If a student’s preferred text or campus is unavailable during Terms 2 and 3, they can:
- Join the ‘Module C: The Craft of Writing’ class
- Enrol in a Matrix English Holiday course
- Complete the corresponding course online through Matrix+

Matrix classes are capped at 15 students per class, seated in a U-shaped layout to encourage participation, peer discussion, and teacher-student interaction.
Each Year 12 English Advanced tutoring lesson runs for 3 hours and consists of Theory, Application, and In-Class Practice.
Student progress is tracked through weekly homework review, classroom participation, and performance in quizzes and topic tests. Teachers provide verbal and written feedback to support improvement. Parents can view student progress on our Matrix Learning Management System (LMS).
If a student needs extra help, they can get instant academic support via our AI-powered Chatbot or attend optional Workshops for personalised guidance.
Students gain access to Matrix Theory Tutorial Videos on our Matrix Learning Management System (LMS), which contains the same content covered in-class. Videos are paired with the Matrix Theory Book, allowing students to review lessons at home, and return to class prepared.
Holiday Course | NSW
The Year 12 English Advanced Holiday Accelerated Course enables students to complete the entire upcoming term’s content in just 9 days. This condensed, structured format provides students with a strategic head start, maximising continued learning and retention while freeing up term time for ongoing revision.
The Term course develops skills gradually across several weeks, allowing time for deeper learning, regular practice, and steady improvement.
For best results, yes. Completing both the Holiday and Term courses allows students to cover all modules necessary for their HSC English Advanced studies. This is because ‘Module C: The Craft of Writing’ is offered as an alternative to both ‘Module A: Textual Conversations’ and ’Module B: Critical Study of Literature’ in the Term program.
Students should bring a pencil case, water bottle, and a readiness to learn. All other learning resources are provided on the first day of class.

Matrix+ is an online Year 12 English Advanced tutoring course consisting of on-demand Theory Tutorial Videos paired with a Matrix Theory Book. It is a flexible, accessible, affordable, and self-paced alternative to Matrix on-campus tutoring.
No. Year 12 English Advanced Matrix+ students can watch on-demand video tutorials anytime and anywhere. Students can pause, replay, or speed up videos, making it an accessible and flexible learning experience for all types of learners.
Students have the flexibility to complete multiple Year 12 English Advanced courses at the same time. They can also enrol into past Term courses to catch up on missed content.
Year 12 English Advanced students begin their Matrix+ online course on the first day of the Matrix Term. They can access all Theory Tutorial Videos, Q&A Discussion Boards, and online resources until the day of their HSC exam.
