Overview
The Matrix Year 12 Mathematical Methods Units 3/4 Holiday Accelerated Course is a structured 9-day program that gives students a full term’s head start. In just two weeks, students cover all the upcoming term’s topics from the VIC syllabus, giving them a significant head start when the term starts.
Through daily 3-hour lessons, students build deep understanding in advanced topics such as differentiation, integration, logarithmic and exponential functions as well as probability and statistics. Each lesson combines expert teaching, guided practice, and VCE-style problem solving to strengthen both conceptual mastery and application skills.
By the end of the course, students not only feel confident in tackling Mathematical Methods content but also gain valuable exam technique, problem-solving strategies, and independent study habits that prepare them for future VCE success.

Approach
Structured Acceleration
In just 9 days, students cover a full term’s worth of Mathematical Methods Units 3/4 content before it is taught at school. This head start reduces the pressure of learning new concepts during the busy school term and allows students to use class time at school for reinforcement rather than first exposure.
Teaching Approach
Lessons are delivered by expert teachers through clear explanations, step-by-step worked examples, and explicit instruction. Students apply their learning through guided practice, daily problem-solving, and VCE-style questions. Immediate feedback ensures concepts are consolidated and any gaps are addressed quickly.
Content Mix
Each lesson balances theory and application across the Mathematical Methods syllabus. Students develop conceptual clarity, practise applying techniques to complex problems, and learn to tackle non-routine and multi-step exam questions confidently.
9-Day Sequencing
The course runs across nine consecutive sessions over two weeks. Each day builds on the last in a deliberate sequence, reinforcing learning through daily practice and review. By the end of the program, students have completed the full module for Mathematical Methods Units 3/4, leaving the term free for revision and exam preparation.
