Matrix OC Test Preparation teachers deliver a structured and engaging primary tutoring experience through a mix of direct instructional and interactive teaching. All Matrix OC Test Preparation courses include high-quality resources designed to provide students and teachers with proven methods for reading comprehension, mathematical reasoning, and thinking skills.

Yes. The Matrix OC Test tutoring program covers every aspect of the OC Test thoroughly: Reading, Mathematical Reading, and Thinking Skills. Each term is structured to strengthen these areas while teaching students the 48 critical thinking skills essential for OC Test success.
No. The Matrix OC Test Preparation course teaches students a wide range of critical thinking skills that are applied and assessed across all three sections of the OC Test: Reading, Mathematical Reasoning, and Thinking Skills.
The Thinking Skills section is one of these three components, and focuses specifically on logical and spatial reasoning.
Students can join the Matrix OC Test Preparation course at any time, as each term covers all three OC Test sections, with content taught in increasing difficulty. If your child has missed the earlier modules, they can catch up using the Matrix+ online course.
For the best results, we recommend that students begin Matrix OC Test Preparation tutoring 12 to 18 months before the exam. This allows students to thoroughly master all three test components, while developing strong exam technique and time management skills.

Matrix classes are capped at 15 students per class, seated in a U-shaped layout to encourage participation, peer discussion, and teacher-student interaction.
Each OC Test Preparation tutoring lesson runs for 1.5 hours and consists of Theory, Application, and Guided Exam Practice.
Student progress is tracked through weekly homework review, classroom participation, and Diagnostic Tests in Weeks 3, 6, and 9. Teachers provide verbal and written feedback to support improvement. Parents can view student progress on our Matrix Learning Management System (LMS).
Students gain access to Matrix Theory Tutorial Videos on our Matrix Learning Management System (LMS), which contains the same content covered in-class. Videos are paired with the Matrix Theory Book, allowing students to review lessons at home, and return to class prepared.
Holiday Course | NSW
The OC Test Preparation Holiday Intensive is a short, 4 day focused program which builds the student’s understanding of the OC test format by testing them in increasing difficulty with each holiday course. This program strengthens the student’s skills for all three OC test topics while simultaneously improving exam technique and time management.
The Term course develops skills gradually across several weeks, allowing time for deeper learning, regular practice, and steady improvement.
Yes. Parents receive a detailed progress report highlighting their child’s mock test results, their performance in each skill area, and recommendations for improvement.
Students should bring a pencil case, water bottle, and a readiness to learn. All other learning resources are provided on the first day of class.
Matrix+ Online Course | NSW
Matrix+ is an online OC Test Preparation tutoring course consisting of on-demand Theory Tutorial Videos paired with a Matrix Theory Book. It is a flexible, accessible, affordable, and self-paced alternative to Matrix on-campus tutoring.
No. OC Test Preparation Matrix+ students can watch on-demand video tutorials anytime and anywhere. Students can pause, replay, or speed up videos, making it an accessible and flexible learning experience for all types of learners.
Students have the flexibility to complete multiple OC Test Preparation courses at the same time. They can also enrol into past Term courses to catch up on missed content.
OC Test Preparation students begin their Matrix+ online course on the first day of the Matrix Term. They can access all Theory Tutorial Videos, Q&A Discussion Boards, and online resources until the day of their OC Test.
