This 4-day program strengthens students’ algebraic skills and understanding of linear relationships and quadratic techniques, key components of Stage 5 Advanced Mathematics. Through the study of forms of linear equations, gradient relationships, and algebraic factorisation methods, students will deepen their fluency, accuracy, and problem-solving abilities. The course supports mastery of symbolic manipulation and provides a strong foundation for higher-level algebra and coordinate geometry.
Day 1: Linear relationships 1 – Forms of linear relationships: general, point-gradient and two-point formula
Day 2: Linear relationships 2 – Parallel and perpendicular lines, solving simultaneous equations
Day 3: Quadratic techniques 1 – Common factors, grouping in pairs and differences of two squares
Day 4: Quadratic techniques 2 – Factorising trinomials and perfect squares
Solidified mathematical understanding and fluency through structured problem-solving and algebraic practice
Enhanced mathematical communication abilities by expressing working, reasoning, and solutions with clarity
Development of expertise in linear relationships, including gradient interpretation and simultaneous equation solving

How long do I have access Matrix+ course?
