Yes. The Matrix Year 12 English Standard courses are designed to deepen students’ understanding of the complex HSC syllabus content as it’s being taught at school. This allows students to strengthen their knowledge at the right time, focusing on the clarity, depth and application of core English skills while also improving exam performance and confidence.
The Matrix Year 12 English Standard program has been designed to cater for all possible prescribed texts. All lessons, materials, and assessments are aligned with the focus area (e.g. Language, Identity and Culture), rather than with a particular prescribed text. Students then receive supplementary ‘Text Analysis’ guides which are text-specific.

Matrix classes are capped at 15 students per class, seated in a U-shaped layout to encourage participation, peer discussion, and teacher-student interaction.
Each Year 12 English Standard tutoring lesson runs for 3 hours and consists of Theory, Application, and In-Class Practice.
Student progress is tracked through weekly homework review, classroom participation, and performance in weekly writing assignments and the end-of-term topic tests. Teachers provide verbal and written feedback to support improvement. Parents can view student progress on our Matrix Learning Management System (LMS).

The Year 12 English Advanced Holiday Accelerated Course enables students to complete the entire upcoming term’s content in just 9 days. This condensed, structured format provides students with a strategic head start, maximising continued learning and retention while freeing up term time for ongoing revision.
The Term course develops skills gradually across several weeks, allowing time for deeper learning, regular practice, and steady improvement.
Students should bring a pencil case, water bottle, and a readiness to learn. All other learning resources are provided on the first day of class.
Matrix+ Online Course | NSW
Matrix+ is an online Year 12 English Standard tutoring course consisting of on-demand Theory Tutorial Videos paired with a Matrix Theory Book. It is a flexible, accessible, affordable, and self-paced alternative to Matrix on-campus tutoring.
No. Year 12 English Standard Matrix+ students can watch on-demand video tutorials anytime and anywhere. Students can pause, replay, or speed up videos, making it an accessible and flexible learning experience for all types of learners.
Students have the flexibility to complete multiple Year 12 English Standard courses at the same time. They can also enrol into past Term courses to catch up on missed content.
Year 12 English Standard students begin their Matrix+ online course on the first day of the Matrix Term. They can access all Theory Tutorial Videos, Q&A Discussion Boards, and online resources until the day of their HSC exam.
