Year 11 English Advanced Tutoring Course Details
English success is not simply about knowing the “right answer.” Rather it involves the ability to translate what you have learned in class and make meaningful connections to answer questions successfully.
This course will give students the ability to deepen their understanding of key ideas such as:

Students will engage in modelled exercises designed to develop their reading and analysing skills which will transfer to assessments. Once students can analyse texts, they will apply their new knowledge to communicate their ideas creatively and critically.

Matrix Term 1 starts in October each year. This allows students to learn one term ahead and gain a competitive advantage over their school peers when the topic is revisited at their school.

On Campus Courses
All Matrix classes seat a maximum of 15 students arranged in U-shape formation to support an interactive and engaging student learning environment.
You can complete the Year 11 English Advanced either during the school term or in the school holidays.
- Term course: 1.5 hour weekly lessons over 9 weeks
- Holiday course: 3 hour daily lessons over 5 consecutive days

Matrix provides students access online Theory Lesson Videos for missed lessons and revisions. The video lessons are easy to follow and paired with the Matrix Theory Book.
Online Courses
Matrix+ is an online course consisting of video lessons paired with Matrix Theory Books. It’s accessible, more affordable and flexible compared to Matrix On-Campus courses. It’s an effective learning option if you prefer to learn at your own pace.
No, you can learn at any time. Matrix+ lessons are pre-recorded to ensure the highest quality delivery for all types of learners! Our detailed video lessons allow you to view and follow the lesson at your own pace – pause, replay, or speed up videos for an on-demand learning experience.
Pause to view, take a break, take notes in your Theory Book, and rewind to view parts of the lessons again.
Online course students will still be able to access Theory Lesson Videos, Q&A Discussion Boards, and online resources until the end of the calendar year. For example, students enrolled in the 2024 Term 1 course (commences October 2023) will have access until December 2024.
Matrix Theory Books will be mailed to your delivery address via Australia Post.
