Yes. This course is designed as a high-impact revision program to help students prepare for their HSC Trials and final exams. It focuses on exam technique, structured problem-solving, and practice across a wide range of challenging HSC-style questions.
Yes. Students complete 4 full mock HSC exams with detailed solutions, designed to help them practise different question types, refine their working, and learn from their mistakes. Students also receive a printed Maths Extension 1 Preparation Book, access to Theory Lesson Videos and online resources, and a range of practice questions.
Yes. Unlike other Year 12 Maths Extension 1 courses at Matrix, the HSC Trial Preparation course does not cover Year 12 Maths Advanced content. It is recommended to take both courses to build confidence across both syllabuses and prepare effectively for HSC exam-style questions.
In-person course | NSW
Matrix’s HSC Trial Prep course runs for 6 lessons over one week. Students revise all Year 12 Maths Extension 1 HSC topics and focus on exam-style questions to help them prepare for the HSC exam.
The Year 12 Maths Extension 1 Holiday Accelerated course runs for 9 lessons over two weeks and focuses on specific topic areas in both Maths Advanced and Maths Extension 1. This condensed, structured format provides students with a strategic head start, maximising continued learning and retention while freeing up term time for ongoing revision.
The Term course is identical to the holiday course but develops skills gradually across several weeks, allowing time for deeper learning, regular practice, and steady improvement.
The HSC Trial Prep course is available at select campuses across Sydney and will be held during the July and September school holidays. Course dates and locations are currently being finalised.
Matrix+ online course | NSW
Matrix+ is an online Year 12 Maths Extension 1 tutoring course consisting of on-demand Theory Lesson Videos paired with a Matrix Theory Book delivered to your home. It is a flexible, accessible, and self-paced alternative to Matrix on-campus tutoring.
While both courses allow the flexibility to learn anytime, anywhere, the online HSC Trial Prep Course is designed for students revising key Year 12 Maths Extension 1 topics. It focuses on exam-style questions and problem-solving across six Theory Lesson Videos.
In contrast, other Matrix+ courses cover both Maths Advanced and Maths Extension 1 content in greater depth over a longer series of lessons. Students can also take multiple Matrix+ courses, allowing for curated revision.
No. Year 12 Maths Extension 1 Matrix+ students can watch on-demand Theory Lesson Videos anytime and anywhere. Students can pause, replay, or speed up videos, making it a flexible learning experience.
Year 12 Maths Extension 1 students begin their Matrix+ course on the first day of the school holidays. They can access all Theory Lesson Videos, Q&A Discussion Boards, and online resources until the day of their HSC exam.
