This reading guide is designed for Year 3 and 4 students who are thinking about or preparing to sit the Opportunity Class Test. We have provided a break-down of the importance of developing reading skills, how reading skills can benefit in exam situations, and included ways to incorporate healthy reading habits.

We recommend parents and children to work through the guide together. The Reading Log provided is designed to help track your child’s reading and allow key habits to be incorporated.

Most children struggle with English because they don’t get regular reading time at home. These guide will enable you to work with your child to improve their reading skills and boosting their confidence and marks.
