English Coordinator

Matrix Education is now hiring a full time English Coordinator to join our Academic Team.

This role is an opportunity for a passionate and experienced educator to continue their classroom teaching, while taking their career to the next level, through leading a faculty and contributing towards developing courses.

This role reports directly to the Head of Secondary and is working alongside a fellow English Coordinator to lead a team of over 40 English Teachers and Tutors. It will be primarily based at our Sydney CBD head office for administration hours and will require the successful candidate to travel to our Strathfield, Parramatta, Chatswood, Epping and/or Hurstville campuses for weekly teaching hours.

This role is ideal for an experienced secondary teacher or university academic who is seeking a new challenge with an innovative industry leader. As Matrix Education trades seven days a week, weekend hours will be required from time to time.

 

What you’ll do…

  • Course and curriculum design and production of the Matrix English Courses for NESA stage 4, 5 and 6,
  • Writing and copyediting of resources, working to defined project deadlines,
  • Publishing of English courses for the online learning management system (LMS),
  • Teaching regular weekly classes throughout the term,
  • Training, inducting, mentoring and ongoing performance management of new and existing English Teachers,
  • Task allocation, mandating quality control and delivering feedback to the English Resources Writing team.

 

What you’ll need…

  • A minimum Bachelor degree qualification in Education, Teaching, Arts or a related discipline,
  • Minimum of two years experience teaching secondary English in a classroom setting,
  • Demonstrated experience in management of educational course design and staff,
  • Thorough understanding of student learning styles and effective methods of lesson delivery,
  • Knowledge of best practice in engaging students in English,
  • A genuine passion for Literature and English teaching,
  • Extensive knowledge of the current NESA curriculum in stage 4, 5 and 6 English.
