Matrix Education has an opportunity for a full-time Content Editor to join the Marketing Team at our Sydney CBD head office.


As the Content Editor, you will write, edit and publish articles to increase leads and conversions. You will be ensuring that all content published online is of high quality and relevance to suit the purpose and our audience.


This role is ideal for an experienced content writer who is seeking a collaborative role where they can continue to do what they do best (writing great content!) and continually grow and learn.


What you’ll do…

  • Develop and execute a content calendar that drives lead generation and increases conversions through informed content decisions,
  • Ensure all content is high quality and adhere to brand style guide and SEO best practices,
  • Establish a pipeline of user-generated content by liaising with content writers/contributors including staff, students and parents,
  • Write, produce and publish high quality content – informative articles, eye-catching images, and snappy headlines,
  • Identify opportunities to develop new content that will support our inbound marketing strategy,
  • Collaborate with team to develop and execute marketing campaigns,
  • Provide editing support to the content marketing team.


What you’ll need…

  • Minimum three years’ experience in writing for a wide array of formats (including blog posts, website copy, EDM campaigns, video and testimonial scripts and social content and captions),
  • Teritiary qualifications in Media, Communications, Marketing or a relevant discipline,
  • Meticulous attention to detail,
  • Excellent editing and writing skills that can draw and hold attention,
  • Ability to balance data/insights and editorial acumen when making decisions about content,
  • Proven leadership abilities – capable of energising writers to deliver articles on tight deadlines,
  • Self-starter and highly motivated,
  • Highly organised and laser focused; must be able to quickly identify everything from grammatical and spelling errors to additional content creation opportunities,
  • Knowledge and competence in CMS systems (WordPress preferred),
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS,
  • Experience with writing for SEO and a working knowledge of SEO optimisation, keyword placement and content optimisation,
  • Open and collaborative approach towards working in a diverse team environment,
  • Working experience in image creation tools such as Canva, PhotoShop, InDesign or Lucidchart.


Preferred, but not essential….

  • Experience managing SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns,
  • Experience managing SEO/SEM, Google Search Console and knowledge of website analytics tools including Google Analytics, SEMrush, SEO Moz, Screaming Frog,
  • A working knowledge of Google Tag Manager,
  • Demonstrated experience using Mailchimp (or similar) to serve lead campaigns.
